Work with Us At Living Waters!

Join a team that teaches with heart, culture and imagination.
Living Waters Lutheran School Alice Springs/Mparntwe is a small, vibrant independent primary school delivering faith-informed, evidence-driven education in the heart of Central Australia. We’re seeking creative, courageous and compassionate educators who want to make a real difference — for students, families and community.

Why teach at Living Waters?

Real impact in a regional setting
We combine research-informed practice with local knowledge to deliver measurable improvements in literacy and numeracy. Our students come from diverse backgrounds (over 20% identify as Indigenous), and your teaching will directly support strong learning gains and genuine community outcomes.

Culture-forward, place-centred learning
Our weekly Language & On Country cultural learning program — led by Arrernte educators — is central to school life. You’ll teach alongside community knowledge holders and help students build pride in place, identity and belonging.

Creative, contemporary practice
We offer a strong Project-Based Learning program, a 1:1 iPad learning environment, and a dynamic arts- and play-based curriculum that prioritises deep thinking, creativity and student agency. If you love designing hands-on learning experiences and trying bold pedagogies, you’ll fit right in.

Values-led workplace
Our approach is underpinned by the Growing Deep: Free to Flourish ethos — relational, purposeful, compassionate and adventurous. These values shape our programs, partnerships and staff culture.

What we offer our educators

  • A purpose-driven role in a small school where your work is visible and valued.

  • Opportunities to co-teach with specialists (Arts, Culture, STEM) and to lead cross-curriculum projects.

  • A chance to work with Arrernte cultural educators and be part of On Country programs.

  • An innovative teaching environment with 1:1 iPads and a focus on technology for learning.

  • Professional learning grounded in evidence, data and practice — with collegial coaching and reflective planning time.

  • A warm, community-focused staff culture that celebrates creativity, curiosity and wellbeing.

Note: specific employment conditions (salary, allowances, relocation support) are provided in role listings or via the school’s HR team.

Who we’re looking for

We welcome applications from educators who are:

  • Qualified teachers (or eligible) with a strong commitment to primary education.

  • Open to culturally responsive practice and community partnership.

  • Curious about project-based and play-based learning approaches.

  • Passionate about the arts, technology or outdoor/On Country learning (desirable but not essential).

  • Ready to contribute to a supportive, collaborative staff team.

We actively encourage applications from First Nations educators and candidates with experience in regional and remote education.

Professional growth & collaboration

Living Waters is a place for practitioners who want to grow: through classroom practice, research partnerships, specialist collaboration and community-engaged projects. We work from evidence and reflection — but we also experiment, learn and iterate together. If you’re interested in shaping new models of regional education, this is the school for you.
