Lower Primary Music

We begin our music sessions by singing a cheerful song, often accompanied by movements. We will then explore rhythm by establishing the beat of a song, clapping the syllables of the words, using call and response or playing a rhythm activity. Throughout the session, there is lots of dancing, singing, smiling, and playful music games that reinforce listening and coordination skills.

Upper Primary Music

We often begin our music lessons by playing an activity to engage our listening skills and/or coordination. We explore rhythm patterns, notation, singing and beat-making activities to deepen understanding. We’re also learning to play the ukulele, developing skills in chord changes and strumming techniques. Throughout the session, we focus on listening, performing, and working together creatively.

Lower Primary PE

Warming up is our first priority in PE to get our bodies ready for movement and fun. This involves stretches and energetic games to get their hearts pumping. The main activity might include learning basic skills like throwing and catching, then using these skills in the context of a game. The focus is on participation, teamwork, and building confidence in movement. The class ends with a cool-down and a chat about what they enjoyed and how we could make improvements moving forward.

Upper Primary PE

Warming up is our first priority in PE to prepare our bodies and minds for physical activity. This includes stretching and high-energy warm-up games. Our main activities focus on practicing movement skills and using them in sports such as AFL, cricket, and a variety of mini games. Students develop strategies, cooperate in teams, and build game awareness.
